We have less than one month to go until we step onto a plane and fly off to South Korea. John will be teaching English and I will be a stay-at-home mom. I may attempt writing again, but we'll have to see how I feel about it.
We've already begun the often difficult process of paring down our worldly possessions to things we can live without, things that we want to put in storage, and things that we can in no way leave behind. So far, Irene is the only one of us with a suitcase fully packed, but then, she does have many clothes that she can't even wear yet. We're beginning to consider where we will sell what, as we have an apartment full of furniture that will not be going with us. Most can go into consignment, but things such as the washer and dryer will be a bit more of a challenge. We will likely need them right up to the end, but they're 5 years old, so they'll have to be sold somewhere like Craig's List. We'll see.
Since it looks like our little girl will be waking up very soon and my parents will be here in a matter of hours, I am going to cut this first entry a little short. There will be more to come.
